Success and the Strong Mind

Success begins with a strong mind. Once you have that, everything else is easy. It has to be developed. It is like growing the Bonsai tree. It is constantly clipped and pruned so that the shape is what you want. The same is true with the mind. If nothing is put into it, then it is worth nothing. It is just a blob.

This weekend was a prime example of the mind over skill. Federer over Roddick. Woods over everyone in the field. The Williams Sisters dominating.

The other part of success is who you keep company with. As soon as Roger Federer completed the longest match in Wimbledon Finals history, who did he call; Tiger Woods. #1 and #1

It all fits. It all works. You have to make it work for you!

The Breakthrough Approach

At the core of this approach (Breakthrough) is one fundamental, unwavering philosophy:
To transform the business, you must transform the people;
To build the business, you must build the people;
To grow the business, you must grow the people.

Becoming Free!

All that is required to become free is the willingness to acknowledge the unknown as being less risky than the familiar--and to take the step. When this occurs, the unknown will be perceived in a different light. It will be seen (and experienced) as that which keeps life alive and fresh. The willingness to step out of your comfort zone becomes your way of becoming free.

On Taking Risks

There was a very cautious man
He never laughed or played.
He never risked, he never tried,
He never sang or prayed.
And when one day passed away,
His insurance was denied.
For since he never really lived,
They claim he never really died

Growing Men!

Chinese Proverb Say:

"If you are planning for one year, grow rice.

If you are planning for twenty years, grow trees.

If you are planning for centuries, grow men"

Your Vision

Chinese Proverb: "Man who says, 'It cannot be done' should not interrupt man who is doing it."

Helen Keller was asked, "What would be worse than being born blind?" She replied, "To have sight without vision."

Your Attitude

The pessimist complains about the wind
The optimist expects it to change
The leader adjusts the sails

Building the Man

We are blind until we see
That in the human plan
Nothing is worth the making
If it does not make the man
Why build these cities glorious
If man unbuilded goes?
In vain we build the world
Unless the builder also grows

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.

Personal Ownership of a Vision

My friend Rick Warren says, "If you want to know the temperature of your organization, put a thermometer in the leaders mouth." Leaders can never take their people farther than they have traveled. Therefore, the focus of vision must be on the leader--like leader, like people. Followers find the leader and then the vision. Leaders find the vision and then the people.

Goal Setting 101

The power of goal setting is the part of growing a business that is most often left out. See, if we don't set a goal for how much residual income we want to have by a certain time or a certain date, then we are shooting arrows in the dark. How many times have we set new years resolutions that just fell by the wayside. This most likely happened because we never set a plan behind the resolution. What I like most about being an associate in Pre-Paid Legal is that we are being mentored by others that have gone through the process of setting and achieving goals. Pre-Paid Legal is a basically a goal setting and personal development program that has a great compensation plan attached.
